able above all else for being home to the original Legoland, Billund sits on the Danish island of Jutland, some three hours’ driving time from the charged-up hub of Copenhagen. Billund itself is a peaceable little town of 6,000 inhabitants, so it’s the timeless pull of the little yellow brick empire that draws people here: Lego’s corporate base and main factory are also located close by, meaning the theme park is very much the real deal. It’s been drawing visitors to the region for close to 50 years.
