Bern, the capital of Switzerland has retained all its historical medieval features with its many fountains, sandstone facades, narrow streets and historic towers are all waiting to be discovered. Bern's Gurten (international music), Jazz, Buskers and Dance Festival entertains visitors to the city throughout the summer months. The elevated Rose Garden above the Bear Pits and the platform of the 101-metre-high cathedral tower offer the best views of the old town round which the River Aare flows.
