The Airport has recently submitted a planning application for the City Airport Development Programme (CADP) to Newham Council.
The CADP aims to prepare LCY for the future and safeguard thousands of jobs, as well as creating thousands more and reinforcing the airport’s role as an international gateway to London and catalyst for the on-going regeneration of East London.
The expansion planned for the airport includes new aircraft parking stands to accommodate larger aircraft, a parallel taxi way to optimise runway capacity and a terminal extension. Crucially, the airport is not proposing a second runway, or any extension to the existing runway.
