Plans for Oasis Academy Silvertown, the new secondary Free School opening south of the Royal Docks in September next year continue to take shape. The Principal Designate, Charles Claxton, will take up his position on January 1st and he will be based at Britannia Village Hall, Evelyn Road, Silvertown, between January and August.

Discussions to procure a site for the school are well-advanced and an announcement will be made within weeks about the permanent location for the new four form of entry school. Indicative information received from the London Borough of Newham shows that the school is proving very popular with parents of Year 6 children, with significant numbers choosing it as their first choice preference for their child’s secondary school next year.

A public consultation will be held between 6th January and 22nd February 2014 and there will be meetings on 30th January to hear more about the plans for the school. Charles Claxton can be contacted by e-mail on Charles.Claxton@oasissilvertown.org and further information including the latest newsletter can be found on the school’s website -www.oasisacademysilvertown.org

@Geordioca Couldn't be easier, DLR station is 3mins from Terminal and DLR onto Northern Line and straight up definitely doable.
@Geordioca Underground has to be easiest, DLR to Bank, Northern Line to Kings Cross = 34minutes.
