Lee Russell has been appointed Ramp Services Director at London City Airport, effective immediately.
Lee joined London City Airport in 1999 as an airfield operation assistant responsible for maintaining a safe airside environment. During the last 10 years Lee has held a number of senior positions at the airport including Jet Centre Duty Coordinator, Jet Centre Deputy Manager and Jet Centre manager. In May 2008 Lee transferred to a role as ramp control manager working closely with airlines on improving flight punctuality.
Congratulating Lee on his new role, Darren Grover, Chief Operating Officer of London City airport said: “Lee has worked in a variety of roles over the last 10 years at the airport and he has played a key role in the airport being the most punctual in London. The staff and management team wish Lee every success in his new role.”
Commenting on his promotion, Lee said: “It’s an honor to be appointed Ramp Services Director for the airport. I look forward to working with the airlines to ensure we sustain and continuously improve the punctuality of our scheduled flight traffic.”
In his new role Lee will report directly to the airport’s Chief Operating Officer and will oversee the day to day operations of the ramp control unit, ramp services, property and jet centre’s at London City and Northolt. Lee takes over the role from Darren Grover who was recently appointed as the airport’s chief operating officer.
