London City Airport is the UK’s leading airport for on-time performance, according to recently released Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) statistics.
Consistently out-performing all other UK airports and recording above average punctuality scores every quarter, London City outperforms all competitors – in London and nationwide.
Flight punctuality figures from the final quarter of 2011 indicate that the Airport’s on-time performance for scheduled services rose by seven percentage points to an impressive 87% when comparing 2011 to 2010. This is also a substantial seven percentage points higher than the average recorded for London airports and all UK airports.
London City also succeeded in reducing the average delay time by six minutes to just nine minutes on average, due to the effectiveness of the ground operations team and their ongoing efforts to deliver the most efficient and punctual service to passengers.
Richard Gooding, Chief Executive Officer, London City Airport said, “We work hard to deliver a consistent, time-saving proposition to our passengers and so we are delighted with our leadership position, as shown in the CAA’s most recent statistics. These figures, combined with our convenient location next door to London’s financial centres as well as the Olympic Stadium and Westfield Stratford City, make London City the obvious choice for both business and leisure travellers.”
