British Airways is starting services from London City Airport to Dusseldorf, the international business and financial centre of Germany, this autumn.
Flights will launch on September 1 with three well timed services a day, making it possible to do a full day’s business in either city.
They will be operated by a 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft.
As well as being an important business centre, Dusseldorf is also known for its arts. It is home to the Academy of Fine Arts and every year over four million visitors attend the largest funfair on the Rhine river.
Luke Hayhoe, British Airways general manager commercial at London City said: “We have launched a number of new leisure routes from London City in the past couple of years. Now we are very excited to be going to a great business city like Dusseldorf which offers significant trade links with the city of London.”
All British Airways flights include a generous free hold and cabin baggage allowance, free on-line check-in and seat selection 24 hours before departure and complimentary food and drink on board. Customers also benefit from a quick and easy service at London City Airport, just 15 minutes from kerbside to airside.
Flights will depart from London City at 06.:35, 13:15 and 18:00 on weekdays with the return flights from Dusseldorf at 07:35, 14:25 and 18:55.
Flights will operate on aircraft leased from Eastern Airways, with full British Airways livery, uniforms and on board service
