Limited quantities of liquids, gels or pastes must be held in individual containers not exceeding 100ml (approximately 3.5 fl. oz). This may include:
The containers must be carried in a separate clear plastic, zip-top or re-sealable bag that does not exceed 20cm x 20cm (8 inches x 8 inches) or equivalent to one litre (1.75 pint) capacity.
Items must fit in the bag comfortably and the bag must be completely closed. At the airport security search, the plastic bag must be removed from the cabin bag and x-ray screened separately.

Unfortunately there is no specific transfer area at the Airport so you will need to clear Arrivals via Customs and then go through Security again before returning to the Departure Lounge. You should leave adequate time in between your flights.

Baby food is permitted through the Security Search point but please note, the Department for Transport rules allow only “enough/sufficient for the flight”. You may be asked to taste the food or liquid.

London City Airport offers a left luggage service, allowing you to store luggage safely until you return. Left luggage facilities are available at a charge of £5 per item per 24-hour period.
Passengers need to log their items at the Information Desk, obtain a receipt and then take them to the Left Luggage room situated in Security Zone A, to the right of the Terminal concourse behind the check-in desks.
To retrieve items, payment should made at the Information Desk where they will stamp your ticket so you can pick up your items from Zone A.
You do not have to be checked in to use the left luggage facility.

What are the maximum dimensions of hand luggage I can take through security with me?
The dimensions of each item of hand baggage carried by a passenger through the airport security search point must not exceed:
Length – maximum of 56cm
Width – maximum of 45cm
Depth – maximum of 25cm including wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.

As a guide, you should check-in with hand luggage at least 20 minutes before your flight is due to depart, or at least 30 minutes if you have luggage to check.
BA passengers can check-in, with hand luggage, 15 minutes before the flight is due to depart.
CityJet, Air France and KLM flights can check-in 15 minutes before the flight is due to depart with hand luggage and 20 minutes with checked in luggage.
For all other passengers please contact your airline who will be able to confirm latest check-in times.

The completed forms should be placed in the envelope provided by the retailer with the relevant credit card details used for the purchase. Leave the envelope unsealed and post it in the box situated between Security and the Departure Lounge. Customs collect and stamp these at the end of each day. The refund is processed accordingly and should be credited to your card.
The tax refunds are not managed by the airport.
