Yesterday, Monday 08 January 2007, London City Airport welcomed Air One, Italy’s first privately owned airline, who touched down at 09:40 to launch their Rome, Fiumicino service.
There will be two flights daily Monday – Friday, departing London City Airport at 10:10 and 16:50, plus a Saturday service departing at 10:10 and a Sunday service departing at 16:50. Air One will operate the service using an Avro RJ70 aircraft, with 70 seats.

“The launch of Rome services demonstrates Air One’s commitment to developing a network to serve Italy. With plans to launch services to Genoa and Turin at the end of January we wish them every success for the future.
Air One offers both a business and economy product. Fares will start at £65 one-way including taxes.
Claudio Balzarini, Director Sales for Air One, believes that their focus of developing a London City Airport network addresses the current high level of demand for services between Italy and London: “2007 is a very exciting year for Air One and by the end of January we will be operating four services from London City Airport to Italy. Our aim is not to stand still; we will be looking to further enhance the current schedules as well as exploring new route opportunities.”
“As a company, London City Airport is very forward thinking and anticipates future market trends and demand, providing an environment that supports our plans for future growth and development.
