London City Airports Annual Art Awards 2007
HAVE YOUR CAMERA, BRUSHES AND PAINTS READY FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN £500 COURTESY OF LONDON CITY AIRPORT AND THE LONDON BOROUGH OF NEWHAM.
London City Airport together with London Borough of Newham are launching the 2007 Annual Art Awards. Now in its 10th year the Annual Art Awards are going from strength to strength attracting more and more artists every year.
Both artists and photographers, either amateur or professional, living within the local area of the Airport are invited to submit entries that focus on the Airport and its location. All artwork should be delivered, ready for hanging, to the airport between Monday 23 April – Friday 27 April 2007.
The prize structure is as follows:
- First Prize £500
- Second Prize £300
- Third Prize £200
Richard Gooding, Chief Executive of London City Airport said, “This launch of the tenth London City Airport Annual Art Awards demonstrates the continued success of the competition. With the help of Newham this competition highlights how much talent we have within our borough”.
Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales said, “We are really pleased to partner with London City Airport again in this fantastic yearly art competition. The Annual Art Awards are a brilliant example of an event which brings together all kinds of people from in and around Newham for a great community event. If I wasn’t the Mayor of Newham I think I would definitely enter!”
Entries short-listed will be displayed in the passenger terminal building from Thursday 3 May until Friday 1 June 2007.
