LONDON CITY AIRPORT STAFF GET IN TUNE FOR CHARITY SING SONG

14/05/2007

London City Airport has launched charity karaoke nights at venues across Newham in aid of Richard House Childrens’ Hospice. Anyone working or living in Newham is welcome to take part in the challenge and sing to win. You must have a team of at least ten people to enter. Why not get together your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours for a fun night out?

Two winners will be chosen from each heat and will be invited to take part in next round heats at a later date. The grand final will take place at the London City Airport Fun Day on Saturday 7 July 2007. The overall winner will taste the lifestyle of a true superstar with a sight seeing trip over London in a private jet!

One of the many charity nights taking place all over Newham include one which is being held at The So!...Bar & Restaurant, on Friday 1 June from 19.30 until 23.30. A team of London City Airport staff have already been warming their vocals to take to the stage and grab the microphone at The So!...Bar & Restaurant. The So!...Bar & Restaurant is situated at 1d/1e Royal Victoria Place, Britainnia Village, Royal Docks, E16 1UQ.

Richard Gooding, Chief Executive of London City Airport said, “I have been with London City Airport for over 10 years and never knew of the fantastic singing ability many of our staff have here! A karaoke night is a great way to raise money for Richard House and it is also a fun and entertaining night out”

As well as the London City Airport team taking part in the charity karaoke night at The So!...Bar & Restaurant, it is also open to everyone. It is just £5 per person to take part and every penny will be donated to Richard House.

Richard continued “I wish all of the karaoke nights every success and look forward to the finals at the Airport Fun Day. I just hope there aren’t any talent scouts attending the karaoke night at The So!...Bar & Restaurant. I don’t want any of our staff being poached to become the next chart topping superstar!”

For more information and to find out where other charity karaoke nights are being held call the London City Airport Charity Karaoke Hotline 020 7861 9991.
