The London City Airport Fun Day on Saturday 4 July promises an afternoon of fun for everyone. One of the many attractions taking place this year includes West Ham United Football Workshops. The West Ham United Community Sports Trust delivers high quality programmes for the community in East London and Essex.
Coaches from the West Ham United Community Sports Trust Training and mentoring scheme will be at the Fun Day giving children from the age of seven the opportunity to learn new tricks and improve key football skills. During these free sessions participants will take part in group activities to work on their ball control, passing, dribbling, tackling and kicking skills, as well as general ball techniques. Having perfected their performance their new skills will be put into practice in a friendly football match on a 20 by 30 metre inflatable pitch sponsored by Barclays.
Richard Gooding OBE, Chief Executive of London City Airport said “We are delighted that the West Ham United Community Sports Trust are joining us at this year’s Fun Day. The West Ham United workshops are a great opportunity for local children to develop confidence on the pitch along with the understanding of the importance of good sportsmanship. The workshops are sure are to be a huge hit with all football fans”.
The workshops will run throughout the Fun Day from 2.30pm until 4.30pm. For further information regarding the London City Airport Fun Day visit www.funday2009.com
