London City Airport and CityJet get Banking!

London City Airport together with CityJet, recently joined up with Co-operation Ireland Bank to give a group of young people from Belfast, Dublin and London the opportunity to participate in a two day workshop comprising of a series of fun and interactive workshops.

Students were flown in from Belfast and Dublin by Cityjet and joined by London-based students to work together on activities based around career opportunities, guidance from experienced pilots, team building and developmental skills.  CityJet gave all the students an opportunity to put their flying skills to the test using an interactive flight simulator game awarding the top team with great prizes for their efforts.

The initiative hopes to inspire young people by raising their aspirations in preparation for the real world and gives them an opportunity to learn more about how organisations operate and work together.

London City Airport delivers an ongoing Education Excellence Programme and is pleased to engage with its partner airlines in similar activities in East London. 

Dr Alan Largey who runs the project at Co-operation Ireland Bank said “There were so many good experiences for the young people during their visit to London and in the programme organised by Morgan Stanley but all agreed that the visit to London City Airport was amongst the best.  Hopefully the visits will have a lasting effect on their aspirations and career plans and they can see what is achievable for them”.
