A budgerigar was rescued and re-homed on Thursday 29th September, after flying into the landing gear of an E190 aircraft, while parked at London City Airport.
Airport safety and operations staff witnessed the budgie trying to hitch a lift on the aircraft and flew into action.
After shutting down the aircraft’s engines and capturing the little bird, attempts were made to find his owner but as this was not successful, he has been temporarily housed at an employee relative’s aviary in East Ham.
Reports confirm that he is thriving in his new environment but the budgie’s new foster family are prepared to return their newest addition if his owner comes forward.
