London City Airport supports National Volunteers’ Week
Five projects, five days, 40 volunteers… London City Airport’s first ever Volunteers’ Week got underway on Monday [2nd June].
A week of activities have been organised to coincide with the national week of the same name, with staff from across the airport working with local community organisations to complete a range of tasks.
The projects being undertaken by the London City Airport team are:
Across the five days, the volunteers will give 320 hours of their time to the projects
Liam McKay, Head of CSR and Public Affairs at London City Airport said: “National Volunteers’ Week provides the opportunity for us to inspire our workforce to show their support for the local community and get involved in initiatives. By setting a target of five projects in five days we will be able to generate quick results and really make a difference to the organisations we are helping.”
London City Airport encourages volunteering throughout the year, with employees having given up 2,300 hours of their time since 2010.
