Local councillors, employment workers and education specialists came together at London City Airport last week to help celebrate the launch of 'Airport Careers', a guide for local job seekers and students on roles available at the Airport.
The guide, now available on the Airport’s website, is aimed at those interested in a career within the aviation industry, and for those who wish to find out about the various roles on offer. Over 30 types of job are featured in the guide, describing the tasks and duties involved, the qualities and skills desired and advice and tips when applying for each role, and including roles in many of the 55 external companies onsite.
The event also launched 'Airport Insights', a fantastic new resource for students and teachers offering an insight into operations at the Airport. The eight short videos, also available on the website, cover a range of topics including 'The Customer Experience', 'Team Work', ‘Changes & Trends’ and ‘Marketing’, and offers interviews from many staff across the Airport site.
Richard Gooding, CEO, was on hand to host the event where guests included local councillors, education specialists and employment advisers. Richard said of the event ' We are pleased to be able to make our Careers guide available to local people of all ages and backgrounds. This shows the variety of interesting and accessible jobs at your local aiport’.
