Proposed strike on the Dockland Light Railway (DLR) is scheduled to take place between 04:00 on Wednesday 28 January and 03:59 on Friday 30 January. Enhanced bus services will operate between Canning Town, King George V and London City Airport. Passengers travelling on public transport should allow additional time and plan their journey before they travel.
The local Rubislaw rock from which Aberdeen takes its ‘Granite City’ nickname is an apt symbol for the place as a whole, being hard-wearing, resolutely Scottish and full of interesting nooks and bumps. Oil wealth has helped the city to become one of the most appealing in the country, with a classy range of hotels, clubs and restaurants now complementing established attractions such as the Maritime Museum and Aberdeen Art Gallery. For out-of-town exploration, Royal Deeside, home to Balmoral Castle, sits a short distance to the west.
