The largest of the Channel Islands is at once a bustling financial centre and a peaceful rural getaway, with 70 kilometres of deserted coastline standing in contrast to the businesslike vibe of the capital, St Helier. The rich soils and seething seas yield an abundance of local produce, which is showcased to perfection in the island’s constellation of sparkling restaurants. There are some fabulous local museums too, not to mention a select offering of boutique theatres, galleries and live music venues. A range of luxurious spas, dozens of sandy coves and a balmy year-round climate complete the seductive picture.
