The Airport delivers a wide range of environmental programmes to ensure we can operate and grow in a sustainable way.

The airports commitment to managing its impact on the environment is outlined in its Environmental Policy Statement.

London City Airport continues to be recognised for its commitment in managing the way the business interacts with the local environment. This is embodied with the airport being awarded ISO14001 accreditation for its environmental management system and achieving Stage 3 ‘optimisation’ status as part of the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme.

Sound Insulation Schemes

Wake Turbulence

Many of the new aircraft operating at London City Airport such as the Airbus A318 and Embraer 170/190 are equipped with winglets. These winglets improve aerodynamics and reduce the intensity of the wake vortices and reduce the likelihood of a wake turbulence impacts. Click here to read more.
