To mark London City Airport’s 30th Anniversary celebrations a £30,000 fund has been created to support local charities and organisations that look to make a difference in the local communities near London City Airport. The application deadline has now closed. We have received entries from a large range of organisations focusing on community, education, employment and environment initiatives. The grant announcements will be made on Monday 4th of September 2017.
Declan Collier, CEO of London City Airport said:
"Our ambition for the 30th Anniversary Community Sponsorship Fund is to empower groups in East London so that the region, and its people, can reach their full potential, with a funding boost to deserving initiatives. We’ve continually invested in our communities and the new fund ensures the 30th anniversary is a shared celebration with the surrounding area. I look forward to receiving the applications and recognising the fantastic work of local groups."
Grants between £300 and £3,000 for up to a year are available for enterprises, schools, charities, community organisations and not-for-profit organisations working in Newham, Greenwich, Tower Hamlets, Havering Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Bexley. To apply your group must have a bank account in the organisations name.
To qualify for any of the available grants your project is expected to fall within London City Airports’ community focus areas:
- Community & Local Economy – building stronger communities
- Education – raising aspirations of East Londoners
- Employment – tackling local unemployment
- Environment – mitigating the environmental effects of the airports operations
