Work Experience

The work experience programme provides local residences with the opportunity to develop a variety of skills and to gain insight into the different careers at the airport.

The programme consists of a five-day placement which will run throughout the month of March and November.

There are a variety of departments to choose from which include:

Customer Services Placement

The key functions of the Customer Services team are:

  • Respond to queries from internal and external customers
  • Work with our onsite partners, including concessions and airlines to deliver an excellent service for our passengers

If you are interested in a placement with the Customer Service Centre you must be well presentable and enjoy working in a professional environment.

Finance Placement

The key functions of the Finance team are:

  • Ensure invoices are paid and funds are received
  • Budget setting for each department
  • Issuing weekly Bankers’ Automated Clearing Services (BAC’s)
  • Preparation of financial reports

If you are interested in a placement with the Finance Department you must express you interest in numbers and eagerness to learn about the processes involved in the finance team.

Health and Safety Placement

The key functions of the Health and Safety team are:

  • To develop and implement a health and safety policy for the airport
  • Monitor all health and safety aspects on site
  • Deliver health and safety training to all staff
  • Monitor performance and maintain records of all accidents and incidents

Are you interested in health and safety practices? For this placement a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills are desirable.

Jet Centre Placement

The key functions of the Jet Centre team are:

  • To deliver a luxury service to all customers who use the facility
  • To deliver a complete corporate aviation service package

Are you interested in a placement in a high end customer facing role? For this placement you must present yourself in a professional way at all times.

Ramp Services Placement

The key functions of the Ramp Services team are:

  • Marshal and Service the inbound aircraft
  • Load the luggage and service the aircraft for departure
  • Off load the aircraft and deliver the luggage to the reclaim belt
  • Load the luggage and service the aircraft for departure

Are you interested in working with aircrafts? You need to be a team worker have good communication skills and abide by health and safety rules.

Tax and Duty Free Store Placement

The key functions of the Tax and Duty Free store are:

  • Assisting customers in finding the desired product in a professional manner
  • To offer customers a clean and welcoming environment to purchase their products

Are you interested in a customer facing placement? For this role good communication skills and an eye for detail are desirable skills.
