The airport is passionate about helping local causes and participates in a variety of volunteering activities, from skills sharing events with the LCY Finance and Marketing team, to supporting initiatives which help the elderly and vulnerable.
In 2017, 15% of airport staff took part in at least one volunteering activity and donated a total of 1379 volunteering hours.
LCY organises an annual Volunteering Forth night to celebrate National Volunteers’ week in partnership with ELBA. In 2018, a combined total of 50 staff donated their time and skills to Cody Dock in Newham; Redbridge Food Bank; Core Landscapes in Tower Hamlets; and Spitalfields City Farm in Hackney.
