Environmental stewardship programme

The airport organises two different environmental Stewardship programmes: the Junior River Champions and Schools outreach Programmes at the East Man Nature Reserve.

In partnership with Thames 21 the airport offers the Junior River Champions education. For Years 4-6. The programme includes:

• An introduction to the Thames, its wildlife and threats from pollution; introduction to the project and setting up.
• A visit to the local Thames foreshore for activities which may include: river – dipping, monitoring water quality and litter surveying.

In partnership with Active Newham and East Man Nature Reserve London City Airport offers a variety of activities such as Learning Outside the Classroom for schools, a Family Club and City Airport Team Days.
