Sunday Nov 17:

Due to essential roadworks, Connaught Road roundabout will be closed from 7:00PM on Friday 15th November 19:00 until 5:00AM on Monday 18th November, blocking access to the terminal from the west along Hartmann Road. A diversion is in place via the eastern access gates, located at the junction of Fishguard Way, Woolwich Manor Way and Albert Road. Please allow extra time for your journey by vehicle or take the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) instead.

Local Employment

Partnership with Fight for Peace

In partnership, LCY and Fight for Peace offer a training programme that aims to prepare young people in Newham, Greenwich, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets, Barking & Dagenham and Bexley for employment through a combination of training courses and sport engagement.

This programme will equip people with the skills they need to access opportunities at the airport and in other organisations.

If you are interested visit the Fight for Peace website for more information.

London City Airport is the largest private sector employer in the London Borough of Newham. The airport needs to employ excellent staff to ensure our business thrives and to exceed the expectations of our passengers.

In 2016, 55 employers based on-site employed over 2000 people. 64% of our staff is living in an East London Borough. This benefits our business because our staff is flexible and share their knowledge of the local area with our passengers.

To encourage local residents to apply for vacancies at the airport, we actively engage with local jobseekers, recruitment organisations, schools, colleges, universities and other supporting organisations in East London. We work with individuals and groups in a variety of activities, from attending local careers fairs to organising intensive workshops.
