Offering a scenic view of the Tay Rail Bridge, flights from London City Airport arrive at Dundee Airport (DND) located on the shore of the Firth of Tay. Based only 3km from the centre of Dundee, the airport was originally built on reclaimed land in 1963 featuring a single 900m grass runway. Today it has a 1,400m tarmac runway that has contributed to the increase in a sustainable and stable economy in Dundee.
With only a 3km drive to the city of Dundee, the airport is easily accessible by a range of transport. There are taxis available outside of the airport which can take you to the centre, bus stations, and rail station to name a few locations. From the main Dundee bus station there are a range of routes offered by services operated by Xplore Dundee and Stagecoach.
You can also book chartered buses with local operators or take a 4 minute taxi drive to the Dundee railway station, situated on the East Coast Main Line. From here you can access locations not only within Dundee, but a bit further out with services including the Caledonian Sleeper.
