Started in 1969 by Peggy Carey, Viaer Marchi, or old market is a re-enactment of a traditional market from the 1900s held in Saumarez Park and receives around 6000 attendees each year. The festival showcases traditional crafts, foods, and wares, including traditional foods such as Guernsey bean jar and Guernsey Gâche.
Spring & Autumn Walking Festival
Hosted twice each year, this walking event encourages locals and visitors alike to explore all of Guernsey’s hidden gems. From a gentle stroll to a cliff-top hike, these walks take place throughout the day so that it’s open for anyone who wants to take part. Whether you take part in spring or autumn, you’ll be able to see the ever-changing flora and fauna of this scenic island.
