Can I use a form of ID other than my passport when taking a flight from London City Airport?
At present photo ID such as a driving licence can only be used for domestic flights. A national ID card can be used for travel within the EU area and Switzerland otherwise a passport is required for all non-domestic flights.
I think I lost an item on the aircraft what do I need to do?

Can I take liquids with me through the security search point?
Limited quantities of liquids, gels or pastes must be held in individual containers not exceeding 100ml (approximately 3.5 fl. oz). This may include:
Hair gel, hair spray
Liquid or aerosol deodorants
Cosmetics such as mascara and lip gloss
Water and other drinks, soups and syrups
Other items of similar consistency
The containers must be carried in a separate clear plastic, zip-top or re-sealable bag that does not exceed 20cm x 20cm (8 inches x 8 inches) or equivalent to one litre (1.75 pint) capacity.
Items must fit in the bag comfortably and the bag must be completely closed. At the airport security search, the plastic bag must be removed from the cabin bag and x-ray screened separately.
Are there shower facilities I can use at the airport?
There are currently no shower facilities at the Airport. British Airways does have an arrangement with a local hotel for passengers on the JFK route - passengers shoud contact their airline for further information.
I am transferring from one flight to another, what do I need to do?
Unfortunately there is no specific transfer area at the Airport so you will need to clear Arrivals via Customs and then go through Security again before returning to the Departure Lounge. You should leave adequate time in between your flights.
Can I take baby food with me through the security search point?
Baby food is permitted through the Security Search point but please note, the Department for Transport rules allow only “enough/sufficient for the flight”. You may be asked to taste the food or liquid.

What are the maximum dimensions of hand luggage I can take through security with me?
The dimensions of each item of hand baggage carried by a passenger through the airport security search point must not exceed: Length – maximum of 56cm Width – maximum of 45cm Depth – maximum of 25cm including wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.

I think I lost an item in security/at the airport what do I need to do?
There is no viewing areas within the airport. the best place to view aircraft is opposite the runway by the Newham council building on the Royal Docks.
How do I change date/name/time on my flight ticket booked on www.londoncityairport.com?
If you booked your ticket via our website you will need to contact 01737 336376, open Monday - Friday from 09:00 - 17:00.*.
Otherwise please contact the company with whom you made the booking.

Do you have an area were I can leave my luggage?
London City Airport offers a left luggage service, allowing you to store luggage safely until you return. Left luggage facilities are available at a charge of £10 per item per 24-hour period.
Passengers need to log their items at the Information Desk, obtain a receipt and then take them to the Left Luggage room situated in Security Zone A, to the right of the Terminal concourse behind the check-in desks.
To retrieve items, payment should made at the Information Desk where they will stamp your ticket so you can pick up your items from Zone A.
You do not have to be checked in to use the left luggage facility.
Can I use the online check-in service?
Air France, BA, Cityjet for Air France, KLM, SAS and Swiss passengers can use the individual airline online check-in services.

Can I cancel or amend my flight, accommodation or package booking made on londoncityairport.com?
If you or any member of your party wishes to cancel or alter a booking, written notification must be given to P&P Associates Ltd trading as London City Airport. This can be done on this form http://www.londoncityairport.com/getintouch/contactus by choosing the 'fights, accommodation and packages' option under 'bookings made on londoncityairport.com'.
The date of cancellation will be the date we receive the written notice. In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation charges will apply.
Your hotel is supplied by third party agencies. These third party agencies will have additional cancellation policies that may be applicable and in addition your chosen hotel will typically have its own cancellation policy. P&P Associates Limited t/a London City Airport will pass on any such policies or charges that the hotel or third party agency has imposed in relation to cancellation to the customer PLUS £35 ADMINISTRATION FEE. In the absence of the hotel having its own policy, the cancellation fee charged by P&P Associates Limited t/a London City Airport will be £35 per booking.
Refunds on all products inevitably take some time to process and you should allow 8 – 12 weeks for the payment to be received back and refunded to the original credit card. The time it takes to process is determined by each individual airline and is beyond our control.
In the event that we are required to apply the results of compensation claims from airlines or other suppliers, we reserve the right to charge a handling fee to cover additional resources needed to process these.
How long do I need to check in before my flight?
Passengers are able to check-in hold baggage two hours before their flight is due to depart. Passengers are advised to confirm the latest check-in times with their airline.
I have an early morning flight, can I stay at the airport overnight? Does the airport close?
The airport closes at 2200 (10 pm). No passengers are allowed into the terminal after closure. However, we do lots of hotels close by should you need overnight accommodation. Click here to book a hotel here.
Can I travel with pets ?
London City Airport does allow pets to travel with passengers out of the airport however it does not have the facilities to allow pets to travel back into the airport.
Onboard the aircraft small pets maybe permitted to travel in the cabin with passengers. Any large pets will be placed in cages and be put into hold.
Passengers are strongly advised to contact their airline before they travel to confirm they will be permitted to travel with a pet as each airline has different requirements for domestic and international routes. Also airlines operate services on different types of aircraft and this determines whether they are able to accommodate pets onboard.
If you are travelling with British Airways pet transport is not possible at London City Airport. Only guide dogs (for visually impaired passengers) would be allowed to travel. For more information click here. All other airlines accept dogs regardless of them being guide dogs or not.
Where can I buy an oyster card?
Tickets and Oysters are sold at the ticket desk located in the DLR to the right exit of the terminal. They can also be pre-purchased online here and sent to you before travel to London.
Is there a shuttle bus service that can transport us between airports?
There are no direct shuttles between London City Airport and other London airports. However London City Airport is well connected to public transport. For more details on how to travel between airports click here.
Can I take a bus into the city?
We would recommend using the DLR and London Underground rather than public buses. London City Airport is easy to reach by public transport, with a fast Docklands Light Railway service linking to London’s Underground and national rail stations. Can I walk to the ExCel from the airport?
Yes, it's approximately 15 to 20 minutes’ walk.
Can I get a taxi from the airport?
Yes, There is a black taxi rank located just outside the terminal entrance, you can also prebook a licensed minicab or executive car prior to your arrival.
Is there a pickup area?
There is a pickup area located in the short stay car park, charges are applicable, please see here details. Vehicles are not permitted to wait on the forecourt next to the terminal building. ANPR cameras are in use on the forecourt and fines will be issued
What do I do about my tax refund form?
There is no tax refund desk at London city airport however there is a drop off box for your forms, located in the security search area. The completed forms should be placed in the envelope provided by the retailer with the relevant credit card details used for the purchase. Customs collect and stamp these at the end of each day. The refund is processed accordingly and should be credited to your card. Please ask a member of security if you cannot locate the drop off box.
The tax refunds are not managed by the airport.

It will take you 22 minutes to get to Bank station on the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) from London City Airport. To travel on public transport you will require tickets or an oyster card. They can be purchased at the ticket desk located in the DLR station to the right as you exit of the terminal. They can also be pre-purchased online here and sent to you before travel to London.
I’m on a transfer flight, will I need to go through immigration and process through security again?
Yes, when you arrive at London City Airport you will need to go through passport control exit through arrivals and the go through security for you next flight.
Is there a smoking area in the departure lounge or airside?
No, there is only one designated smoking area before security, this is located by the entrance of the terminal. Once you go through security and into the departures lounge there are no smoking areas available.
Is there a fast track lane?
No, there is no fast track service in the airport.
However, passengers that book the first class lounge have the luxury of being collected from the terminal or airport car park and transported directly to the first class lounge then being escorted direct to their aircraft ready for departure.
