For our next #NoFilter project, London City Airport will be looking to the canals and coffee shops of the capital of the Netherlands – Amsterdam!
London City Airport has been regularly teaming up with travel bloggers over the last year to create a snapshot look at some of our favourite cities, without filters or editing.
Advances in digital cameras and smart phones mean that travel photography and the ability to enhance images through filtering and post-editing has never been easier. The aim of the #NoFilter project is to get back to the roots of photography, celebrating the fact that photos don’t need to be Instagrammed to show how beautiful a city is.
We started the project looking at #NoFilter Madrid, before turning our attention to #NoFilter Switzerland, #NoFilter Dublin, #NoFilter Milan and now we’re excited to be focusing on our sixth destination #NoFilter Amsterdam!
With historical water-ways and traditional flower markets thrown next to contemporary galleries and trendy hipster cafes, the urban landscape of Amsterdam is like no other city. It wonderfully mixes a village atmosphere of colourful narrow boats and bicycles with a cutting-edge cosmopolitan attitude that makes it a remarkable location to visit, whatever floats your boat!
London City Airport is delighted to have Duncan Rhodes, editor of the Urban Travel Blog on board as the judge of #NoFilter Amsterdam. Duncan founded the fantastic Urban Travel Blog and is a firm fan and regular visitor to Amsterdam. Duncan’s insider knowledge will be essential in the project as he will be deciding which of the bloggers’ #NoFilter posts show the true essence of Amsterdam.
The bloggers who took part in #NoFilter Amsterdam are below, including the winner Dana from the Amsterdamian blog, as chosen by Duncan from the Urban Travel Blog. Check out the posts for some great images of Amsterdam and photography tips:
