British Airways introduce new plane, add rotations, and announce summer ’16 schedule

BA will operate 14 extra flights next summer and introduce a new Embraer 190 in May, with the latest addition to the fleet replacing a turboprop used for the three-a-day Dusseldorf service, adding 50% more seats and bringing BA’s number of aircraft at LCY up to 25. It will also create 30 new crew and support jobs.

In a separate announcement BA confirmed their summer schedule with three additional flights to Nice, two to Faro, Florence, Ibiza and Angers, and one flight extra to Quimper, Venice, Palma, and Majorca. The airline will also be increasing capacity and flights between LCY and the Isle of Man in 2016, going from 19 to 27 flights a week. Some of the additional services will be flown by Embraer 170s. With over 700 flights a week to a total of 30 destinations in the UK, Europe, and the USA, BA are targeting their busiest ever summer at the airport.
