In The Independent’s annual survey London City Airport jumped to first place in it's annual survey of transport links to the UK’s leading airports.
The survey rates airports on the off-peak frequency, journey time and cost of the main link to the city they serve. The number of Docklands Light Railway (DLR) trains between London City airport and Canning Town doubled in February this year, providing passengers with even better access to the City. There is now one DLR train every five minutes.
Also being located in Zone 3 makes travelling to the centre of London from the airport cheaper than the other London airports. The off-peak fare with a contactless credit or debit card, or an Oyster card, is just £2.80. Or an off-peak zone 1-3 travel card can be purchased for just £12.00. Visitor oyster cards can be purchased in advance and sent to your home ready for when you travel. Purchase a Visitor oyster card here.
Passengers can disembark the DLR at London City Airport station and be at check-in in just 1-2 minutes.
