London City Airport launches ski microsite; snow comes to Canary Wharf!

London City Airport will be unveiling their brand new ski microsite – ski.londoncityairport.com. at Jubilee Place, Canary Wharf on 11 – 12th November.

 

The microsite aims to provide all the information customers require when travelling on a ski or snowboarding holiday from London City Airport. Expert resort guides with the latest snow conditions and weather reports focus on the airport’s key ski destinations and bi-monthly articles within the ‘Ski Magazine’ section provide insider guides, tips and advice to appeal to novices and experts alike.

 

The site also contains details of travelling through the airport, how to check in, travelling with skis and the airport's ski retail offering. Customers can then make an informed choice and book flights, accommodation, bespoke packages, lift passes, ski hire and ski school, all via the site.

 

Warren Smith, one of Britain’s leading professional freeskiers and an Internationally Certified Performance Coach and Ski Instructor, will be joining the launch and will be available on Friday 11 November to give hints and tips on ski techniques to freeskiing fans.

 

To mark the website’s debut, a team from London City Airport will be entertaining workers and shoppers by offering free, professional photography inside a giant London City Airport snow globe, which can be electronically framed and personalised and sent to family and friends as a bespoke Christmas card.

 

Snow enthusiasts can enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate while consulting with Powder Byrne, the luxury ski experts. There is also an exciting opportunity to win a luxury ski weekend in Flims, Switzerland, with private transfers, free lift passes and free equipment hire, courtesy of Powder Byrne.

 

With an average flying time of just two hours and free ski carriage on selected flights, London City Airport is ideally placed for snow seekers wishing to take to the mountains of France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland or Scotland. Offering a check-in time of just 20 minutes and a 10 minute transfer time from plane to surface transport on arrival back at London City Airport, passengers will spend more time on the slopes and less time travelling when flying from London City Airport.
