London City Airport’s E-Commerce team proudly received the ‘Social Media’ award at the Business Travel Magazine’s inaugural People Awards.

The accolade recognises the airport’s unique and effective use of social media in delivering leading online communications. The E-Commerce team have successfully built up an online following with a total of 16,926 social followers.  Q4 of 2011 saw an impressive increase of 19.62% twitter followers – making this channel a key part of the airport’s online passenger communication strategy. 
 
The judges, representatives from the travel industry, found the airports “use of social media for alerts, customer feedback & progressive updates ensure speedy solutions, improving business efficiency and customer satisfaction.”
 
Bryn Owen, Marketing Director for London City Airport commented: “We are honoured to receive this award which recognises our team’s round-the-clock efforts to deliver real-time information to our passengers. 
 
“Social media is another channel for us to engage with our business passengers, enabling us to personalise our communication with them and to further improve their travel experience.”
