More flights to the sun and Scotland from City Airport

01/05/2012

British Airways is operating extra flights to the three main Balearic Islands from London City Airport this summer to meet the demand from sun seekers.

In addition flights to Glasgow will also be increased to cater for additional demand from both business and leisure customers.

The airline’s new service to Mahon in Menorca doesn’t start until May 25 but it has proved so popular that frequency has been increased from two to three flights a week from the launch date.

Flights to Palma, Majorca will also increase from six to nine a week and to Ibiza from eight to 10 a week during July and August.

British Airways is also bringing forward the date of the planned increase in frequency to Glasgow to May 28 when it will operate six return flights a day between the two cities.

Luke Hayhoe, general manager commercial said: “The bad weather in the UK is clearly a factor in the high demand for seats to the three Spanish islands. With a quick journey through London City Airport, just 20-minutes from check-in to aircraft, customers know that they can be in the sun in less than three hours.”

British Airways offers all inclusive fares to all destinations, which include a generous free 23kg luggage allowance, free on-line check-in and seat selection 24 hours before departure and complimentary food and drink on board.
