Planned Airport Development

About CADP

The City Airport Development Programme (CADP) planning application was submitted to the London Borough of Newham on July 26th. Newham will be conducting their own statutory consultation in August.

Planning applications for the City Airport Development Programme (CADP) were submitted to the London Borough of Newham (LBN) in July 2013.

On February 3 2015, Newham council passed a resolution to grant planning permission for the CADP.

On March 27, the Mayor of London issued a direction to refuse planning permission, and on May 12, Newham issued the refusal.

London City Airport is appealing against the refusal and a public inquiry will start on March 15 2016.

In preparation for the appeal, on September 9 the airport produced an Updated Environmental Statement (UES). This uses the most current facts and figures available and takes into account the fact that the original Environmental Statement was prepared in 2013.

The updated statement also takes into account two minor changes to the application drawings.

A guide to the updated UES can be viewed here. The guide explains how the new documents differ from those previously submitted.

The full submission can be viewed here and comprises the Updated Environmental Statement, Consolidated Application Plans Folder, Proposed Minor Changes Folder and an Updated Reports Folder.

On the 26 February 2016 Airport will submitted revised Tables 8.35a, 8.36a and 8.37a to replace those originally submitted in the UES relating to noise levels at schools. The revisions to the Tables have been found to have no bearing on the overall assessment of air noise effects and the findings remain the same as those reported in the UES. There are no other amendments needed to the UES as a consequence of the changes to the tables. The full submission can be viewed here.
