Working to monitor, manage and reduce the impacts of aircraft noise
London City Airport continuously looks at new ways to mitigate the impact of aircraft noise. Over the past few decades, London City Airport has developed comprehensive and effective noise mitigation measures through engagement and consultation with the London City Airport Consultative Committee, local communities, airlines, and other stakeholders and business partners.
In accordance with the Environmental Noise (England) Regulations 2006 (ENR), which require the Noise Action Plans to be reviewed at least every five years or revised as necessary, London City Airport reviewed its previous submission and developed a new Noise Action Plan for 2024-2028.
London City Airport's Noise Action Plan for 2024-2028 outlines extensive commitments to monitor, manage, and reduce aircraft noise impacts. A draft Noise Action Plan was produced and was open for consultation over a 10-week period from June to August 2023. It was officially adopted by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) in October 2024, in accordance with the ENR.
