London City Airport Noise and Track Keeping System
As part of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs’ requirements, the London City Airport’s next 5-year Noise Action Plan is currently being updated for the period 2024-2028. Our draft plan reviews the noise impact of the airport and determines what actions will be carried out over the 5-year duration of the strategy to sufficiently protect local communities from aircraft noise, in line with current legislation as well as national and local policy.
You have ten weeks to have your say, until the 11th of August 2023. We will hold three community drop-in sessions, allowing community members to meet the team, ask questions about the draft plan and provide us with feedback. The draft NAP will be hosted here for the ten weeks, and we will update the materials continuously as the process progresses.
Once we have considered the feedback from stakeholders to the consultation, an updated NAP will be submitted to Defra for approval. After a period of review by Defra, LCY will work with Defra to clarify any points raised and agree a final NAP. Once formally adopted by Defra in early 2024, the approved plan will be published on our website.
The details of the public drop-in sessions are as follows:
- Tuesday 20 June 2023, 4pm-7.30pm - Walthamstow Library, High St, E17 7JN;
- Saturday 24 June 2023, 10.30am-1.30pm - Beckton Globe Library, 1 Kingsford Way, E6 5JQ;
